Counseling Session with Se-na's Uncle

Chapter 94

Counseling Session with Se-na's Uncle

[No stream today, everyone]

I was surprised myself when I heard I wasn't streaming today

[Comments]

- What drugs is this guy on?

ㄴ He's definitely on something, but not drugs

ㄴ Though after reading this post, hard to be sure

- At least tell us why you're taking a break, or show us your di*k before you go

ㄴ Personally, the latter seems more convincing tbh

ㄴ fr if he's showing his di*k, that's definitely a valid reason for taking a break

- Just unsubscribed because you're taking a break... hope you reflect on this.

ㄴ Sure~ the stream won't die without you~

I sighed as I posted the break notice.

While I felt relieved about taking a break, there were still things to do during this rare time off, and honestly, I felt guilty knowing that this was actually when I should be streaming hard.

There were two reasons why I decided to take a break.

First, lately I've been doing a lot of collaboration streams and streaming with face cam, which made me more tired than usual. It felt completely different from my normal streams.

Second, someone requested counseling from me today.

I was surprised because it was from someone unexpected, but since I had no particular plans for my break anyway, I decided to accept the counseling request.

Speak of the devil - the doorbell rang.

It felt like people kept coming to my place since I stopped going out.

To be honest, having people come to my home was even more uncomfortable than going out myself, but well, today was my break day after all.

"You're here?"

When I opened the door, I saw biceps with an incredibly strong presence.

The contrast between those energetic, bulging muscles and his gloomy expression was awkward, almost frightening.

Today's visitor was Se-na's uncle.

Se-na's uncle, who was usually so bright it seemed almost concerning, was now leaning against my doorframe with a face full of worries.

Even when I greeted him while opening the door, he just nodded awkwardly without saying anything.

"...Um, please come in..."

Though I felt awkward seeing this unusually quiet side of him, I couldn't leave him standing outside with such a sorrowful expression. I didn't want rumors spreading about a muscle man who could probably bench press 500 pounds standing in front of my apartment with sad eyes.

When I went inside, he obediently followed. Though his lack of reaction was concerning, at least he seemed to understand what I was saying.

I guided him to the sofa.

By the way, I bought this sofa because the spacious living room felt empty, but it had been feeling like a waste of money since I never sat on it except when eating. Now it was finally serving its purpose for the first time.

After Se-na's uncle sat down, I checked the fridge wondering what I could serve him. I found some Tejava[1], one of my favorite drinks, and served it with ice. When he saw the drink, his gloomy expression shifted to one of confusion as he looked back and forth between me and the drink.

Perhaps out of consideration for my thoughtfulness, he seemed to want to say something but ended up just sighing and quietly putting down the cup.

Tejava is delicious though.

"So... do you watch internet streams and stuff?"

"Huh? Yeah... I do..."

"Right? I heard our Se-na is streaming too..."

Suddenly I felt a pang of guilt in my stomach.

He doesn't know that I stream too, and of course, I was involved in Se-na starting to stream, which made me feel bad.

Still, it didn't seem like the right atmosphere to reveal that I stream too, so I just kept quiet.

"Streaming isn't necessarily bad but... I hear that field is really overcrowded these days? Being a trainer isn't the best job either, but at least she has experience..."

I could roughly understand where this conversation was heading.

From what I gathered, Se-na had recently told her uncle that she was reducing her regular schedule to do something like streaming, and while her uncle couldn't bring himself to stop her, he seemed worried.

"But her body's getting better and better... Is streaming that physically demanding?"

"Well... Does she do workout streams?"

"People watch others exercise?"

"Yeah, I think so...?"

"Workout streams... Well, I guess there might be less competition then?"

Still, the dark clouds hanging over Se-na's uncle's face showed no signs of clearing.

He stared at the Tejava with a gloomy expression.

"How much do streamers make?"

"It depends on the viewer count and audience atmosphere..."

"Hmm... Last time Se-na had 70 people... What about 700?"

"Then it would be about this much per day..."

I showed him by holding up my fingers.

His expression turned to surprise.

"Just that much for 700?"

"700 is actually quite a lot..."

"Really? What about 70?"

"For someone who just started streaming, that's a lot"

"Oh really~?"

Seemingly pleased by my praise of Se-na, he smiled and took another sip of the cold Tejava.

For a moment he gave the Tejava an ambiguous look but then relaxed his expression again.

Then he asked his final question.

"So... don't streamers get a lot of hate comments and stuff?"

I hesitated for a moment, feeling caught off guard.

As someone who probably gets the second most hate on Twitch, to the point where getting hate is part of my content, I wasn't sure how to answer.

But the atmosphere in Se-na's stream was different from mine.

If anything, most viewers praised her for her professional fitness knowledge.

"That also depends on the viewer atmosphere, but... workout streams don't really have that kind of atmosphere"

"Really? That's a relief. Our Se-na isn't particularly strong mentally... Strong body, strong mind? That's all lies."

Seems that way.

If strong minds really dwelled in strong bodies, the person in front of me wouldn't have had such an expression when I opened the door.

Still, my answers seemed to have helped as his expression was now much more relaxed.

"But you seem to know a lot?"

"Huh? Ah... Well, I just like watching streams"

"Oh? You like streams...? Anyway, thanks for the counseling."

Having regained his energy, Se-na's uncle now downed the Tejava in one shot.

"Drink zero cola next time... What kind of taste is this..."

He didn't forget to complain either.

When he said counseling, I thought it would take longer, but it was quick.

"Somehow I had a feeling you'd like streams."

"Huh? Why?"

"That's why Se-na does it"

When I showed a confused expression, he gave my shoulder some heavy pats with his large hand.

Not just pats, but really heavy ones.

They had real weight behind them.

"Sigh... You dense virgin... Fighting for our Se-na. For real."

There it was - the #1 se*ual harassment comment I'd been wondering when would come.

As he was leaving, he suddenly turned to look at me.

"Subscribe to Se-na's stream, like, and turn on notifications"

"...Okay"

Se-na's uncle recited the YouTube golden rule phrases he must have heard somewhere.

I had to strongly resist giving a lecture about how YouTube and Twitch are different.

[What should I do during my break?]

Taking suggestions.

[Comments]

- If you have nothing better to do than ask what to do during your break, why not just stream?

ㄴ lol I came to say the same thing lolol wtf kind of question is this

ㄴ fr this is triggering

- But Daeju-ya, if you're just gonna play games during your break, turn on the stream

ㄴ Playing games with stream on vs off is different

ㄴ What are you, a Daeju fan?

ㄴ ??? Isn't this Daeju’s tgether? Is being a fan not allowed?

ㄴ A Daeju fan... how rare...

* * *

Having a break after so long, I'm not even sure what to do.

I don't even know what dramas, movies, or animations are trending these days.

"Is it going to be games after all?"

But like the viewers said, if I'm going to play games, I should stream it, but I didn't want to stream because I was tired...

So I decided on a compromise and started a stream that wouldn't make me feel tired.

First, no webcam.

But since it would feel empty without anything, I brought out the avatar I used in VR Chat before and set it up like VTubers do.

And I decided not to use the mic.

Since this is technically during my break, maybe they'll forgive this much?

Most communication would be done through my avatar's expression changes triggered by button presses.

[???]

[What is this]

[VTuber on]

[Say something]

I opened League of Legends and typed in chat that I couldn't speak.

[Why not?]

[Vocal nodules?[2]]

[Someone's threatening you with a knife from behind?]

[If it's neither, turn on your mic]

I responded by making my avatar show a bright smile.

[It is cute though]

[This is something only weebs would like... so I like it]

[Since it's Daeju, I'll watch]

While some viewers were confused by this very different stream and left, it was within expectations.

I would have been more depressed if the same number of viewers as usual were watching this kind of stream.

The meaning of my stream all this time... and.

Still, quite a few viewers were watching the silent stream.

And then it started when someone sent a donation.

[VTuberjDaeju has donated 1,000 won]

- Nice to meet you, you f*cking bastards, I'm Daeju.

Using the TTS voice that reads donations, they were making me, who wasn't saying anything, look like someone with terrible personality.

With the character and the voice actor-like quality of the TTS reading donations, it really seemed like my character was speaking.

[Wow Daeju is such trash;;]

[Saying such harsh things to viewers... thank you.]

[lololol if you're mad then speak up lolol]

[Something, something is starting]
